Keith and Sarah Cushing along with their children Zoe, Riley, Samantha, wait on the bleachers for the survivor's lap to start at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Franklin. The three Cushing children along with their mom, Sarah, came out to support their dad Keith who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2011. Keith has been cancer free for about a year. The ACS Relay for Life events are fundraising events that help support cancer research and provide a sense of community for cancer patients, survivors and their care givers. The events typically last 24 hours with each relay lap dedicated to a certain theme. Mike Wolanin / Daily Journal
