Dewdrop the clown hands out candy to children during the survivors lap at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Franklin at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital. Four years ago Dewdrop was diagnosed with brain cancer and given only six months to live. She has survived three and a half years beyond that diagnosis. The ACS Relay for Life events are fundraising events that help support cancer research and provide a sense of community for cancer patients, survivors and their care givers. The events typically last 24 hours with each relay lap dedicated to a certain theme. Mike Wolanin / Daily Journal
