Adult skills provider Fredrick King pins a blue child abuse awareness ribbon to his lapel before the Pinwheel for Prevention event at the Johnson County branch of the Indiana Department of Child Services in Franklin, Ind. The Pinwheel for Prevention event was designed to raise public awareness for child abuse and the services available to prevent such acts from happening. King helps young adults leaving foster care transition to life as adults outside of foster care. Attendees planted a garden of pinwheels outside the Department of Child Services building. Johnson County had 3,272 reports about suspected child abuse in 2013 of which 212 were substantiated. Mike Wolanin / Daily Journal
