Volunteers from the Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association and FedEx pack Christmas trees in boxes during the Trees for Troops kickoff Nov. 20 in Thorntown. Indiana growers gathered 300 that will be sent to two U.S. military bases in Kuwait. A few of the trees will go to the 38th Sustainable Brigade, an Indiana National Guard troop that is serving at Camp Arifjan in the Middle Eastern country.
