Gabe Dougherty, of Camby, swings between hand holds as he trains for the American Ninja Warrior competition at the Community Life Center in Greenwood, Ind., Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015. The American Ninja Warrior competition is a televised obstacle course competition aired by the Esquire and NBC television networks. Competitors on the program test their strength and endurance on a series of different obstacles courses over multiple stages. Dougherty, an electrician by trade, and his four teammates have spent the last year and a half training for the show. To accurately train they built mock-ups of the different obstacles they might encounter at the competition. Mike Wolanin / Daily Journal
