Members of Boy Scout troop 227 work to maintain the garden at Windisch Park in Bargersville, In. as part of their service learning project. The members of troop 227 chose the service project at Windisch Park in honor of former troop member William Torrance who passed away in February of last year at the age of 18. William Torrance chose Windisch Park for his Eagle Scout service project in 2010. Torrance gathered donations form local businesses in the forms of money and landscaping supplies to aid in the improvement of the park. After collecting the donations William designed the garden and pergolas at Windisch Park. In total Torrance raised around $10,500 making the project the largest Eagle Scout service project in troop 227 history. The boy scouts, both past and present members, choose to do their community service at Windisch Park to honor Will's memory. Mike Wolanin / Daily Journal
